Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Defends Record Amid Abuse Allegations
Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is facing scrutiny following a New York Times report in which three women alleged a history of toxic behavior and physical roughness. Despite the controversy, Platner has denied the accusations and continues to campaign, asserting that Maine voters will support him as he remains the presumptive nominee ahead of the primary. While Senator Bernie Sanders has reaffirmed his support for Platner, the turmoil has led some supporters to call for Governor Janet Mills to reactivate her suspended Senate bid. Adding to the complexity, one accuser, Lyndsey Fifield, recently claimed on social media that the reporting was a "set up" and a "gift" to the campaign.
