A newly identified threat actor tracked as JINX-0164 is targeting cryptocurrency organizations through sophisticated social engineering. The attackers use fake LinkedIn job postings and meeting invites to lure developers into interviews, eventually tricking them into installing custom macOS malware. Once the malware is deployed, the attackers gain deep access to internal development environments and CI/CD pipelines. This allows JINX-0164 to steal credentials and access tokens, facilitating the hijacking of code pipelines to steal digital assets from the targeted firms.
