The North Carolina House of Representatives voted 71-47 to override four vetoes by Governor Josh Stein, narrowly meeting the three-fifths requirement at 60.17%. While the votes were largely partisan, some Democratic lawmakers broke ranks to pass the Republican priorities. The overrides occurred nearly a year after the initial vetoes and amidst a period of legislative tension, as the state has yet to pass a budget for 2025.
